Oh! John, don’t go to Kosovo
Kurds, Turks, guns, mud, US mustn’t
fly-bys cry by
bad-ass Slavs attack mad Albs
whether we help them repress, secede
this isn’t winning, this is killing

bombs rock towns, blow troops down
guns thump, thugs murmur, guns thump
fly-bys cry rhythms
a madman rants, tanks crawl. War
men went there: Serbs, rebels, Greeks
in this din, in this winter

no John! don’t go to Kosovo
